ISI Sementi aims with her research and genetic improvement program to create new varieties with high quality and high agronomical performances.

The breeding activities are mainly focussed on the creation of tomato varieties for the processing industry and for the fresh market, onion, lettuce and endive.

Each year important experimental trials are carried out at our Experimental Center at Fidenza and Cesena, where we can test both field-and indoor crops. A large number of different vegetable varieties are screened each year and in particular of the following important crops: tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, all different types of brassica, melons and watermelons, onions and lettuces.

Furthermore, trials are set up abroad in different continents during different seasons.

Also each year evaluation-trials are prepared in the most significant areas for all the main vegetable crops which are listed in the ISI Sementi catalogue. These trials host varieties developed by ISI Sementi as well as varieties of other seed companies represented by ISI Sementi in Italy.
